Železná Ruda

The town originally took its name from iron ore mining which took place there, although it later became famous for glass production. Today, Železná Ruda is a tourist centre in the central Bohemian Forest.

Among the main tourist attractions of the area are the Bohemian Forest’s ice age lakes. The area is part of the largest forested region in Central Europe.
