Horská Kvilda is a mountain village by the Antygl mountain (1,253 metres). It consists of 30 houses scattered over a hilly forested plateau with many moors, 1,045-1090 metres above sea level. It is one of the highest communities in Czech Republic and there is plenty of snow here during the whole winter.
The community lies in the middle of the Bohemian Forest National Park and is one of the best known and most peaceful areas for summer and winter holidays. There are lots of well marked cross country trails, hiking trails and cycling routes here. Close by is the Jezerní slať high moor with viewing tower and nature trail. Horská Kvilda includes several other settlements – Výhledy (Schrollenhaid), Zlatá studna (Goldbrunn), Horní Antýgl (Ober-Antigel) and Korýtko (Grandl).
